Tom Baines School, in conjunction with the City of Calgary LEAD program (Thursday after school leadership program at our school), are collecting non-perishable food items (or money to buy fresh produce) to be donated to the Calgary Food Bank. If every Tom Baines student brought in one item, we would collect 830 food bank items! Collection spots are outside the main office, and at centre court. Please consider supporting this worthwhile event.

Our final dance of the school year is Thursday, April 26 from 6:00-9:00 pm and all grades are welcome. Come prepared with your student ID, $3 entry fee with an item for the Food Bank (or $4 without); juice and snacks are also available for purchase. Remember to bring a parent-signed note if you are planning to arrive late or leave early, and a reminder that school rules still apply at the dance…no hats or electronic devices.
Tom Baines students! Let’s try to bring in some non-perishable food items to help support the Calgary Food Bank!!

The week of April 23-27 has been dedicated to a wonderful opportunity for our grade 9 students to experience many different learning events. We presently have over 100 students travelling to Ontario and Quebec through our French program. We also have a group of 35 studens travelling to Ontario to explore Canadian history first hand, and a group of 30 students heading to the west coast to experience sailing in the Gulf Islands. Also a large contingent of students signed up for the week full of local day adventures within Calgary.
As this is a regular week of school for all students, if your child has not signed up for any of these wonderful opportunities and will not be attending, you must contact the school either by email, written note, or a message on the attendance line (403-777-7190, ext. 1).
